Sorting out visas is an essential item for Indian passport holders who are planning a trip to Vietnam. Indian passport holders do need a visa to enter the country.

Offline application and online application both are available for Indian citizens. However, with an online application for visas on arrival, it is now easier than ever for Indian citizens to get a Vietnam visa.Indians arriving into Vietnam can get their visa on arrival at one of Vietnam’s participating international airports, including Ha Noi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nha Trang.

Types Of Visa

  • Tourist Visa – This visa permits the applicant to visit Vietnam for a holiday or recreation or to visit family and / or Friends for a stay.
  • Business Visa- This visa permits the applicants to visit Vietnam for an official purpose. (For meeting,Conference, Seminar, etc.

 

Who can Apply for a Vietnam Visa

       Tourist Visa:

  • For Indian travelers, A Vietnam tourist visa required if you wish to travel Vietnam for a holiday or recreation or to visit family or friends for a stay.
  • Sticker visa and E-visa both are available for Indian passengers.

       Business Visa:

  • Business Visa for individuals attending business negotiations, discussions, conferences, seminars etc
  • During the visit, they may engage in business activities that do not constitute work or employment.

 

Right Time to Apply for a Vietnam Visa

        Tourist Stream:

  • People who wish to travel Vietnam for Holliday, Recreation or private visit purpose they can apply Vietnam tourist Visa. You must apply for a Vietnam tourist visa(sticker visa) at least 30 days before you intend to travel.
  • There is a Visa on arrival option for Indian passenger but for this Visa, Indian passport holders first will have to apply for the E-Visa online, obtain the approval letter and collect the visa on their arrival in Vietnam.

        Business Stream:

  • For visa applicants attending Business meeting, Conference in Vietnam, the local contact must be from a Vietnam registered business entity and also received Business Invitation from sponsor or Letter of Entry clearance from the Immigration services in Vietnam. You are advised to apply for an entry visa within 30 days prior to arrival in Vietnam.

  Document Requirements:

  Tourist Visa (Sticker Visa)

  • Passport valid for 6 months and at least two blank pages
  • Visa Application form
  •  Photograph (size 4×6 cm – clear photos with white background is acceptable)
  • Copy of front and last page of the passport
  • Return Ticket
  • Hotel Accommodation
  • Original Bank statement for last 3 months

 

   BUSINESS VISA

  •  Passport valid for 6 months and at least two blank pages
  •  Visa application form
  • Photographs (size 4×6 cm – clear photos with white background is acceptable)
  • Passport front and last page copy
  •  Air Ticket
  •  Bank statement last 3 months with bank seal and stamp
  • Approval Letter from Vietnam Immigration or Letter of Entry Clearance from the Immigration Services in Vietnam.
  • Request letter from Indian company.

Visa on Arrival/E-visa for Indians Visiting Vietnam:

  • There is a visa on arrival option available for Indian passport holders if they are planning to visit Vietnam.
  • This Vietnam visa on arrival is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of arrival in the country. Indian passport holders first will have to apply for the E-visa online, obtain the approval letter and collect the visa on their arrival in Vietnam.

Do I need to have booked a hotel or flight before I can apply for the visa?
You do need to know where your first overnight stay will be and you are required to know at which airport, border post or seaport you arrive at, and from where you will leave Vietnam again. Suggested prepare of your travel documents before applying.
What is the difference between the e-visa and the visa on arrival?
The Vietnam e-visa replaces the old visa on arrival. The embassy of Vietnam advises all travelers to make use of the e-visa, or a physical visa that can be picked up at the embassy.
What is the validity period of the Vietnam visa?
Vietnam visa is valid for 30 days. The validity period starts on the date of arrival which you fill in on the application form, not the actual day you arrive.
Do children need a visa as well?
Yes. Children, regardless of their age, need to possess their own passport and visa. These can be applied for individually, or together with that of their parents in a group application. The price for children is the same as for adults.
How long does it take for Vietnamese visa to be approved?
The Vietnam tourist visa processing time is around 24 hours for online applications. Occasionally, the request may take up to 72 hours to process. The processing time for sticker visa processing is 5 to 7 working days.
