Mandatory documents for US Visitor Visa (Tourist Visa)
- Â Â Valid original passport. It is recommended that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your expected arrival date in USA.
- Â Â Confirmation of Printout of the DS160 US Visa application. This is known as the CEAC Barcode

Supporting documents for US Visitor Visa (Tourist Visa)
- Â Â Interview officer will primarily want to check that you are a legitimate applicant who meets all the criteria for US visitor visa including a valid identity, no criminal background, and have a valid reason to request a visitor visa.
- Â Â Â You must show evidence that you have sufficient funds to support your trip to USA.
- Â Â You may want to show evidence that you have strong ties back to home country, which will indicate to the officer that you have a reason to come back to your home country after your US trip is completed.
- Â Â Â Any additional documents that can support the above can be useful to carry with you when you go for the visitor visa interview.
- Â Â Â Evidence that shows the purpose of the trip, intent to depart the United States after the trip, and arrangements made to cover the costs of the trip may be provided. It is impossible to specify the exact form the documentation to take since applicants’ circumstances vary greatly. Following is a list of suggested documents for a few circumstances.
Supporting documents for tourism, pleasure, and exploring United States
- Â Â Â Â Your complete travel plan with dates (in other words, your itinerary).
- Â Â Â Proof of funds (bank statement, copy of passbook, any other proof of cash.)
- Â Â Â Tax ID, PAN ID, copy of last 03 year’s tax documents.
- Â Â Â Â Business card if you have one.

Supporting documents for visiting children, family, attending family event  etc.
- Â Â Â Letter of invitation from children or relatives who are inviting you.
- Â Â Â Â Evidence of event, invitation card, or any other evidence.

If you are employed, get a letter of employment verification:

- Â Â Â If you are self-employed, you must get proof of business ownership and financials.
Note: The above list of documents is not mandatory, and depending on individual circumstance, some of these documents may not be applicable. Additionally, there may be documents or evidence you can present before the consulate officer that are not listed above. The above list is the most common documents requested by immigration officers during visa interview.
For parents or individual applicants whose trip is sponsored by their children, relatives, or friends who live in United States, they should get certain documents from the sponsors. See the next section for complete list of documents required from sponsor.

Visitor visa is for parents or relatives. If you are the sponsoring visitor visa for your parents or this trip is sponsored by any of your relatives, friends certain documents are required from you.

Letter to US Consulate requesting that visa be granted to the person you are sponsoring
Financial documents

USA STUDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS (F1 Visa requirements)
F1 Visa Documents Requirements:
The following documents are required to apply for an F1 visa and must be brought to the visa interview.
- Passport valid for travel to the US and valid for at least six months beyond period of intended stay in the US
- Form DS-160, Nonimmigrant Visa Application, confirmation page
- Payment receipt of F1 visa application fee (if required to pay before the interview)
- Photo
- SEVIS FEES payment receipt
- Form I-20A-B, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F1) Student Status For Academic and Language Students, or Form I-20M-N, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (M1) Student Status for Vocational Students.
The school will send the F1 applicant a SEVIS-generated Form I-20, which must be signed by the applicant and the school official.
Additional documentation may also be requested to establish that the applicant is qualified for an F1 student visa. F1 visa applicants may be required to provide evidence of the following.
Academic preparation, such as
Transcripts, diplomas, degrees or certificates from schools; and
Standardized test scores required by US school;
Intent to depart the US upon completion of the course of study; and
Documents supporting financial background, proving how the applicant will pay all educational, living, and travel costs incurred

The US visa photo size should be:
- 2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm)
- In color
- Taken within the last 6 months
- With no shadows
- With a plain white background
- You must face the camera in the photo
- Have a neutral expression

- Original Passport minimum valid for 06 months from the date of travel and minimum 02 blank pages. Attached all old passports, if any
