Thailand is countedamong the most visited tourist destinations in the world. All passport holders in India can now visit Thailand for tourism, business, work, and various other activities based on the eligibility factors specified for each visa category.
A few crucial things to note:
- Applicants can either apply for a Thailand Visa prior to their travel date or choose to take advantage of the Visa on arrival The maximum stay period is 15 days.
- Depending on the purpose of travel and visa requirements, applicants may have the option of choosing between online or offline application method
- Certain types of visas do not allow more than one method of application
- Entry to the Kingdom of Thailand is administered and regulated by the Royal Thai Embassy/Consulate under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Types of Visa
Tourist Visa:
Tourist visa is granted to a foreigner who wants to visit Thailand for sightseeing,touring, recreation, or any other casual occasion with relatives and friends.
Business Visa:
- This type of visais designed for applicants who wish to enter Thailand for conducting business, business meeting or training.
- A single-entry Thai Business Visa will allows to stay in Thailand for a period of to 90 days,
Employment Visa:
This type of visa is designed for applicants who wish to enter Thailand for work. There are two types of visa category for Non-immigrant Visa.
- Non-Immigrant Visa (Single entry: 3 months- Permitted to stay for a period not exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Immigration Bureau.
- Non-Immigrant Visa (Multiple Entry :6 Months or 1 Year -Permitted to stay for a period not exceeding 90 Days (each entry) unless otherwise instructed by the Immigration Bureau)
Who Can Apply:
Tourist stream
- Indian applicantswho are willing to visit Thailand for casual reasons are eligible to get Tourist visa
- Thai Tourist Visa: Valid for three months and a single entry
- You can stay in Thailand for up to sixty days within three months
Business Stream
- Indian nationals seeking to travel to Thailand for Business purpose should obtain a Non-Immigrant B visa from a Thai consulate or Embassy prior to arrival.
- It includes a Business meeting,Conference,Seminar or Training.
Employment Visa Stream:
- If you are working in Thailand, you will need a Thailand Work Permit.
- Prior to that, one also needs to obtain a Thailand Work Visa in order to enter the country. Thereafter,one will be able to apply for the permit in the first place.
Right Time to apply for a Thailand Visa:
Tourist visa:
- The Thai Embassy/Consulate accept Thailand Visa applications only 30 days prior to the travel date.
- There is visa on-arrival in Thailand for Indian citizens.
Business Visa:
- Apply one month before from your date of departure.
- A single-entry Thai Business Visa will allow staying in Thailand for a period of to 90 days.
- A multiple entry Thai Business Visa will allow one to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 1-year.
Employment Visa:
- To legally work in Thailand, Indian citizens must apply work permit.
- Work permit is a legal document that states a foreigner’s position, current occupation, or job description and the Thai company he is working with.
- It is suggested to apply one month before from your date of departure.
