If you are traveling to the Netherlands to visit family/friends(including girlfriend/boyfriend), you may apply for this visa.

Tourists

People who wish to tour around that involve cruising, sightseeing and other recreational activities must apply for a visa to Netherlands.  If during any portion of your visit to Netherlands you intend to engage in business, or official duties, you must refer to other relevant visa categories.

Businessmen

People who intend to visit Netherlands to conduct business or commercial activities like meetings, conferences, training etc. must apply for a visa to Netherlands.

Visitors

People who wish to travel Netherlands to visit family/friends (Including boyfriend/girlfriend) can apply for this visa.

 

Right Time to Apply for a Visa to Netherlands

Tourist stream:

One can apply for a tourist visa six months in advance of a trip.

One should apply no later than 15 working days in advance.

 Business Stream:

A business visa for the Netherlands is only issued to an applicant that will not be paid in lieu of work by any entity within the Netherlands.

 

 Visitor Visa Stream:

People who wish to travel Netherlands to visit family/friends and received an Invitation letter, you may apply for the visa.

Applying six months in advance of a trip is now possible.

DOCUMENTS REQUIREMENTS FOR TOURIST

1. Visa application form online

2. Original Passport and Old passport, if any

  • Your passport or travel document must be valid for at least 3 months from the date on which you leave the Schengen area
  • Your passport or travel document must have at least 2 empty pages
  • Your passport or travel document cannot have been issued more than 10 years ago

3. A copy of all passport pages

4. Two Photographs

  • Size:Must be 35 mm x 45 mm (width x height)
  • Between 16 mm and 20 mm (excluding ears)

5. Proof of Travel:

  • Flight reservation of return or round ticket
  • If the applicant is travelling to several Schengen States, proof of intra-Schengen flight reservation, train itinerary or car rental

6. Proof of lodging:

  • Hotel reservations
  • Rental of holiday home
  • Campus residence reservation

If the applicant intends to stay with a family member or a friend, proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation from the host.

If applicant is travelling to several Schengen States, proof of lodging in each of them. If he/she wants to visit relatives, he/she is required to submit original Invitation letter as per specific format.

Certificate of the travel agency confirming the booking of an organized trip or any other appropriate document indicating the travel plans

Marriage certificate, if applicant is married, and cannot provide evidence of marital status in the passport

   Copy of ration card, if applicable

Original private bank statement showing movements in the last three months, duly stamped and signed by the bank

       If the applicant is employed:

  • Indian income tax return acknowledgment for the last two assessment years
  • Payslips for the last three months

        If the applicant is a company owner or self employed

Certificate of registration of the Company

 

       If the applicant is Sponsored

roof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation by completing a national form of the Schengen state concerned

 

      If the applicant is retired:

  • Pension statements for the last three months
  • Proof of regular income generated by ownership of property or business

 

8. Proof of health Insurance:

At least € 30.000 of medical costs are reimbursed, including hospital care, emergency treatment and repatriation (including in the event or death.

Your insurance is valid throughout the Schengen area and for the duration of your stay.

When will I get my visa?
In most cases, you will be informed within 15 calendar days whether your application has been successful. Sometimes, it can take up to 30 days if more time is needed, and up to 60 days in exceptional cases, for example, if extra documents are required.
My visa is issued by another Schengen country and it is still valid, can I enter the Netherlands using my current visa?
Yes. However, it is advisable to check with the issuing embassy before travel.
