Overview:

Mexico City is one of the largest and most populated cities in the world. Originally built by the Aztecs in 1325 on the dry bed of Lake Texcoco, it is surrounded on three sides by tall mountains and volcanoes and sits in the Valley of Mexico, also known as the Valley of the Damned. Mexico City today is a great travel destination offering a wealth of culture and history in the shape of world-class museums, great archaeological buildings, idyllic parks and a thriving night-life.Mexico City truly is a capital city to rival all others. TYPE OF VISA:

Tourist Visa:

A Mexico Tourist Visa is the authorization that foreign nationals who are subject to visas need in order to enter the country. Mexico Tourist Visas are simply for tourism, Recreation, visit, cultural/or any other purpose which does not require you to take up paid employment.

 

Business Visa:

Business visas to travelers who intend to conduct permissible business activities and attend meetings that do not constitute labor or employment in a specific country. Common activities performed on a business visa include: Attending meetings.

 

Study Visa (Up to 180 days):

Temporary Resident Student Visas are valid for six months and include one entry. Once you enter Mexico, you will need to exchange your visa for a temporary resident student card at the National Migration Institute (INM) within the first month after your arrival.

 

Who Can Apply:

Tourist Stream:

Indian national who wish to travel Mexico for Tourism, Sightseeing and Recreation purpose they are eligible for Tourist Visa. A Tourist visa allows you to go to Mexico only as a visitor.

Business Stream:

Business Visa for individuals attending business negotiations, discussions, conferences, seminars, etc. During the visit, they may engage in business activities that do not constitute work or employment.

Sponsor/ Visit Visa Stream:

People who wish to travel Mexico to visit family/friends.You may apply for this visa.

Student Stream:

Students,who received an Invitation or Acceptance letter from any institution pertaining to the National Educational system to take care courses, conduct a research project or undertake academic training for maximum period of 180 days.

 

When Can Apply:

Tourist Stream:

People who wish to travel Mexico for Holiday, Recreation or Private visit purpose they can apply Mexico Tourist Visa. If you are planning a short visit to Mexico, you may need to apply for a Mexican visa. Applications can be lodged 03 months in advance of travel date.

 

Business Stream:

Who received an invitation from a public or private institution to perform non-remunerated activities in Mexico, indicating the purpose of the trip, estimated time of stay and taking responsibility for your travel and lodging costs they are eligible for Business Visa. Applications can be lodged 03 months in advance of travel date.

 

Sponsor/ Visit Visa Stream:

People who wish to travel Mexico to visit family/friends and received an Invitation. You may apply for this visa. Applications can be lodged 03 months in advance of travel date.

 

Student Stream:

Students, who received an Invitation or Acceptance letter from any Educational institution pertaining to the National Educational system to take care courses, conduct a research project or undertake academic training for maximum period of 180 days then can apply student Visa. Application can be lodged 03 months in advance of your travel date.

MEXICO TOURIST VISA REQUIREMNTS.

  1. Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
  2. Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy and entry stamp) in case the applicant holds another nationality.
  3. Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
  4. Two recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  5. Original cover letter given by your employer indicating date of joining (Applicant must have been working at least 1 year in the same company).-if applicable. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the person signing the letter).
  6. Original pay slips (last 3 months). – if applicable, stamped and signed by the company. Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the signatory.
  7. Original personal cover letter issued by the applicant stating length and purpose of the trip.
  8. Original personal bank statement (stamped and signed) or pass book (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
  9. If self-employed, original documents of business establishment/property ownership duly apostilled.
  10. Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (previous year).
  11. Visa application fees.
  12. For spouses who are financially dependent on the main applicant, include marriage certificate duly apostilled and spouse’s passport copy.
  • If marriage certificate is from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal or Maldives, must be legalized.
  1. For children/ applicants under 25 years old who are financially dependent on the main applicant, include birth certificate dully apostilled and parents passport copy.
  • If birth certificate is from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal or Maldives, must be legalized.

14. For parents dependant on the main applicant, include birth certificate of the main applicant dully apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs and passport copy.

NOTE:

  • Personal presence of the applicant(s) is mandatory for biometric process and interview.
  • The Consular Section may request further forms of proof depending on each case.
  • Names on all the documents should be exactly as on the passport(s).
  • If the applicant fulfils all requirements, visa processing takes two working days.
  • Having a Mexican visa gives the possibility to travel to the country, but the entry to Mexican territory is subject to the final decision of the Immigration and Health Authorities in the country.
  • Passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel.

 

Important Notes:

From March 1st 2022, appointments must be required for submission.

 Holders of any type of valid and multiple entry U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen visas (any nationality) or permanent residence of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile) DO NOT require a Mexican visa to travel on business, tourism, or transit purpose for or less than 180 days as long as they present any of the mentioned documents at the point of entry.

This is not applicable on temporary residence card holders of U.S.A., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, Schengen, Pacific Alliance (Colombia, Peru, Chile). Holders of this type of residence must apply for a Mexican visa on any of its categories.

Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country.

 

Mexico Business Visa Requirements

  1. Original valid passport and a clear photocopy of the first and last page (vertical).
  2. Proof of legal stay in India (Visa copy and entry stamp) in case the applicant holds another nationality.
  3. Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
  4. Two recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  5.  Original cover letter given by your employer indicating the purpose and length of the trip. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the person signing the letter).
  6.  Appointment letter (Joining date document). All employees must have been working at least 1 year in the same company.
  7. Original letter of invitation from the Mexican company indicating the purpose and length of the trip. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the person signing the letter).
  8. Original pay slips (last 3 months). (Stamped and signed by the company). Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the signatory.
  9. Original personal bank statement (stamped and signed) or pass book  (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
  10. Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (previous year).
  11. Visa application fees.
  12. If the applicant is a business owner, they must also include the following documents:
  • Partnership deed which should include the name of the applicant or Company Registration before the State Government, duly apostilled.
  • Income Tax Return of the Company for the last two years.
  • Company Bank Statement for the last three months.

Invitation by a Mexican Organization that will sponsor the trip (Sponsor Visa).

  3. Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
  4. Two recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  5. Original cover letter given by your company indicating the length of your trip. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the person signing the letter).
  6. Original pay slips (last 3 months, stamped and signed by the company).
  7. Personal Bank Statement (stamped and signed) or Pass Book (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
  8. Personal Income Tax Return (ITR) or Form 16 (previous year).
  9. Original letter of invitation from the Mexican organization (public or private). This letter must contain the following details:
  • Complete name of the person (same as in the passport) and nationality.
  • Official Registry or Denomination of the organization. (Razón Social de la organization o institución).
  • Number of the official registry, if it corresponds to the organization.
  • Mission/objective of the organization or institution (private or public).
  • Complete address and contact information of the organization or institution.
  • Information of the activity or project that the guest is doing in the organization.
  • Estimated duration of the activity that the guest will undertake.
  • The letter will have to explicitly mention the commitment of the organization or institution to cover all expenses of the person invited during his/her stay in Mexico and the commitment of his return to his/her country of residence.
  • Copy of an official identification with signature and photography of the person that will sign this letter.
  1. Original and photocopy of bank statements or investment proofs of the Mexican organization or institution stamped and signed by the bank, of the last 12 months.
  2. A document attesting that the applicant has the experience to carry out the activity for which he is invited (example: original degree or educational certificate).
  3. Visa application fees.

STUDENT VISA (LESS THEN 180 DAYS)

  3. Application form duly filled (printed in one page, double sided).
  4. Two recent passport-sized photograph (4.5 CM X 3.5 CM), white background, without glasses. Face should cover 80% of the photo.
  5. Original letter of acceptance by the University/Institution which should include the following information:
  • Name of the University or Institution, address, official registration number.
  • Complete name of the applicant/student (same as in the passport) and nationality.
  • Level of the course and area of studies.
  • Name of the course or activity.
  • Length of the course and dates.
  • Cost of the course or activity.
  • Must include a copy of a government issued ID (photo and signature) of the Signatory.
  1. Proof of economic solvency to cover the studies
  • People who are receiving an scholarship: The letter of acceptance must mention the amount of the scholarship that the student will receive.
  • People who are you are under 25 years old: Their parents can sponsor their studies by providing last three months of bank account certified by the bank
  • Original and one copy of the student’s birth certificate dully apostilled or legalized and passport copy of the parent under who’s name is the bank account (all name MUST match in all the documents as per passport)
  • People who are above 25 years old: Must demonstrate that they have enough resources to cover their expenses on their own:
    • Original personal Bank Statement (stamped and signed) or Pass Book (last 3 months) certified by the bank.
    • If applicable: Original pay slips (last 3 months) stamped and signed by the company. (Please include a copy of the passport or PAN card of the signatory)
