For visa applicants attending Business meeting, Conference in Malta, the local contact must be from a Malta registered business entity and also required Business Invitation from Sponsor. Applying six months in advance of a trip is now possible.

Once you have received an Invitation from any immediate family members in Malta or friends then you are eligible for Visitor visa.The updated Schengen code makes it possible for travelers to apply six months before their trip

  2. Two recent color photographs with white background (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm).Please don’t staple the photographs to the application form
  3. Passport/Travel documents must
  • Be valid for at least 03 months beyond the intended stay
  • Be issued within the previous 10 years and not valid for more than 10 years

  • Last previous passport must be presented
  1. Overseas Travel Medical Insurance valid for all Schengen countries. The insurance must cover the applicant for at least 30,000 Euros (or equivalent) all risks (accident, illness, medical emergency, evacuation etc.) The policy must clearly specify the period of validity and must cover the entire duration of the trip including the date of arrival and departure.
  2. Confirmed Travel Itinerary with travel dates (with return flights for courses less than 91 days) OR issued E-ticket. Once the Visa is approved, a confirmed return flight ticket may be requested prior to Visa being issued.
  3. Proof of Accommodation:
  • Confirmed Hotel Booking, OR ‘Declaration of Proof’ completely filled in, signed by the host, and accompanied by photocopy of host’s Malta ID Card or Passport, both in original and witnessed by (Maltese) Legal Professional.
  1. Proof of Sufficient Funds to cover all expenses during the entire period of travel.
  • A Letter (signed and stamped) from the bank stating the available balance.
  • ii) Original Bank Statements (signed and stamped) for the last 6 months ‘Declaration of Proof’ completely filled in, signed by the host accompanied by photocopy of host’s Malta ID Card or Passport. Both in original and witnessed by Maltese Legal Professional.
  1. For Occupation:

If employed : Salary slip last 06 months, Updated bank statement with bank seal and stamp, IT returns last 03 years, NOC letter from organization.

For Business:

Company registration Certificate, GST Certificate, Article of Memorandum, Financial documents personal as well as company (Bank statement for 6 months and Income tax return for 3 years)

  1. Original & photocopy of all the pages of current passport and the last previous passport.
  2. For Minors:                                                                                                                                                                                     a) Signature of both Parents on all pages of the application                                                                                       b) Notarized ‘No Objection Certificate’ by both parents or by the parent not travelling with the minor.
  3. Aadhaar Card (along with a photocopy)

9.Proof of relationship: Original and Certified copies of Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and other relevant documents from Municipal authority.

10.Photocopy of the residence permit/ ID card of person residing in Malta

11.Photocopy of all pages of current and previous passport of Applicant

8.Covering letter from sending company explaining: details regarding activities and business relations with the Maltese company; particulars and professional status of the applicant/s; purpose of visit and dates of visit.

9.Proof of Accommodation:

i) Confirmed Hotel Booking

ii) ‘Declaration of Proof’ form completely filled in, signed by the invitee and photocopy of invitee’s Malta ID card or Passport. All in original, witnessed by (Maltese) Public Notary.

10. Individual’s Proof of Sufficient Funds –salary slips OR cover letter from the bank plus bank statements (signed and stamped) for the last 6 months.

How long I can stay in Schengen Area in Accordance with my Visa?
The Schengen visa is a short stay visa in the form of a sticker affixed in your passport. The definition of “short stay visa” refers to the general stay in the territory of Schengen agreement for not more than 90 days in a period of 180 days. Exact duration of stay will be decided by consul General.
How long Does the Visa procedure take?
As a rule, after visa application is submitted to the Consulate a decision is taken by the Consulate within 15 calendar days. This period might be extended up to 45 days.
When should I apply for the Visa?
Applications can be submitted within 6 months before planned trip. It is recommended to apply not later than 15 calendar days before the intended trip. Please take into account National Public Holidays of the country you are applying for.
My Passport Expires in Two months, Can I apply for Visa?
As a rule, not. According to requirements your passport should be valid within 3 months after your return from the Schengen area.

Can I leave the schengen area and return back with the same Schengen Visa?
Schengen visas allow to make one-entry, two-entries or multi-entries. With one-entry visa you can travel the Schengen area only once. It is indicated in your visa as “01”. With two-entries or multi-entries you can respectively travel to the Schengen area twice or several times during the visa validity period.
My visa has been refused. What shall I do?
If you get refusal, you may appeal against this decision. You will be informed about decision on visa refusal and its reasons in the standard blank, issued by the Consulate. In this notification the reason of refusal, procedure and terms of appeal will be indicated. You are free to re-apply again if your application has been refused earlier. However, it is recommended that you note the reasons for the earlier refusal before submitting a new application and make amendments, where applicable. In case of your visa application refusal visa fee is not refundable. Visa fee collected covers expenses related to the visa processing.
