IRELAND  VISA TYPES :

Tourist/Family Visit:

An Ireland tourist visa is one of Ireland’s short-stay visas (C visa), which is also referred to as an Ireland visit visa. It is a pre-entry clearance which allows the holder to travel to Ireland, where they can go through Border Control and request permission to enter the country as a tourist or visitor.

Business Visa:

A business visa allows you to travel to Ireland for up to 90 days for activities related to your job to attend meetings, negotiate or sign contracts.

Conference Visa:

A short stay ‘C’ conference/event visa allows you to travel to Ireland for up to 90 days to attend a conference, symposium or other event, for example for business or academic reasons. This visa does not allow you to: Work in any way (paid or unpaid) Rely on Irish public services.

 

WHO CAN APPLY :

Tourist Stream /Family visit:

If a person is travelling to Ireland for the purpose of tourism or for studying a short term English language course then he or she can apply for an Irish tourist visa. During the duration of stay in Ireland on an Irish tourist visa, the visa holder cannot use any publically funded services offered by the government. An Irish tourist visa is valid for a maximum period of 90 days.

Business Stream:

An Irish business visa can be availed by people who travel to Ireland for the purpose of conducting business. The validity of a business visa to Ireland is 90 days. In that duration, the visa holder can attend meetings, negotiate contracts and work for a maximum of 14 days. Usage of Irish public services is not allowed while holding a business visa.

Conference Stream :

A short stay conference/event visa allows you to travel to Ireland for up to 90 days to attend a conference, symposium or other event. All short stay visas are also called ‘C’ visas.

 

WHEN CAN APPLY :

Tourist Stream /Family Visit:

Indian national holding a valid Indian passport can apply for Ireland Visa. Person wishes to travel to Ireland for the purpose of tourism /visit family & friends can apply Ireland tourist visa. In order to visit the country, you should apply for a short-stay visa. This is also known as the ‘C’ visa. It is advisable to apply for this visa 3 months before you scheduled date of travel. This visa is valid for a maximum period of 90 days.

Business Stream :

If you want to visit Ireland for business purposes, and received an Invitation then you will need to apply for a business visa. With this visa a businessman can visit Ireland for business purposes such as corporate meetings, employment or partnership meetings.

Conference Stream :

The Conference or Event Visa is intended for non-EEA citizens who want to travel to Ireland to attend a conference or an event for business or academic reasons and received an Invitation eligible for visa. If your visa application for the Conference/Event Visa is successful, you will be able to spend up to 90 days in Ireland.Keep in mind that during this time you will not be allowed to work (either paid or unpaid), study, or use Irish public services. It is advisable to apply for this visa 3 months before you scheduled date of travel.

3. Application Letter :

Your letter must include your full name and postal address, and:
  • The reason you want to come to Ireland
  • The dates you plan to arrive and leave
  • The place(s) you will stay, for example home address of your friend/family, hotel, hostel, B&B, etc
  • A description of who will pay (or help to pay) for your vacation, for example you, friend/family.
If you are visiting a friend(s), your letter must also include:
  • The name(s) and address(es) of your friend(s) in Ireland
  • A description of how you and your friend(s) know each other
  • Documentary evidence of the relationship between you and your friend(s), for example copies of letters, emails, photographs together, etc
  • The names and addresses of any members of your family who also live in Ireland (even if you will not visit them)
  • The names and addresses of any members of your family who currently live in any other EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
If you are visiting family, your letter must also include:
  • The names and addresses of all members of your family who live in Ireland (including family members you will not be visiting)
  • The names and addresses of any members of your family who currently live in any other EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
  • Documentary evidence to show you are related to them (for example, birth certificates and marriage certificates etc.) Documentary evidence to show your relationship with them (for example, copies of letters, emails, photographs together, evidence of previous visits by applicant or reference etc).
Your letter must also include a commitment from you that you will:
  • Obey the conditions of your visa in full
  • Not rely on public services (for example public hospitals) or become a burden on the State.
  • Leave Ireland before your immigration permission expires.

 

4. Invitation Letter:

Ask the friend(s) or family member(s) you plan to visit in Ireland to type or write a letter that states that they are inviting  you to Ireland to visit them. Ask them to sign and date the letter. Include the letter with your application.

The letter must state:

  • The reason they are inviting you to Ireland
  • The dates they plan to see you in Ireland
  • A description of how they know you.

The letter must include a clear legible color photocopy of the picture page of their National Identity Card or passport (including for Irish citizens).

The letter must also include a statement by your friend(s) or family member(s) that they understand you must:

  • Obey the conditions of your visa in full
  • Not rely on public services (for example public hospitals) or become a burden on the State
  • Leave Ireland before your immigration permission expires.

You must get a separate letter from each friend/family member you are visiting who has a different home address. A single letter for friends/family who live at the same address is acceptable.

Conditional requirements for the invitation letter :

If you are invited to stay with your friend(s) or family member(s) in their home, the letter must state:

  • That they are inviting you to stay with them in their home
  • The dates you are invited to stay and their full postal address (including EirCode)

If the friend(s) or family member(s) inviting you to Ireland is a non-EU/EEA and non-Swiss citizen, the letter must include:

  • A clear legible color photocopy of their current valid Irish Residence Permit
  • A clear legible color photocopy of the current valid immigration permission stamp in their passport.

 

5. Accommodation Plan :

If you are staying with your friend or family in their home for each friend or family member you stay with, include the following:

Their full name, address in Ireland and proof that their live at their address, such as a utility bill (on headed paper) from  within the last 6 months.

If you are staying in other accommodation include printed reservation confirmations (emails or letters) of your  accommodation from:

  • Hotels, guesthouses, hostels, B&Bs, AirBnBs, campsites and so on
  • Shared or free accommodation, for example couchsurfing.
  • Any other type of accommodation.

Reservation confirmations must show the dates you intend to stay at each place. A full accommodation plan must be  submitted with your application. Reservations must contain the full contact details of the accommodation provider.

6. Proof of visa fee payment:

In some circumstances, you may have to include proof that you have paid the visa application fee.

7. Photographs:

Include 2 passport-sized color photographs of the visa applicant. On the back of each photo:

  • Sign your name (in your native script and language)
  • Write your Visa Application Transaction Number from AVATS
  • Each photograph must meet all the following rules for visa photographs.

8. Passport :

  • Your current passport – your current passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you plan to leave Ireland
  • A photocopy of each page from all previous passports you have (where available). Your application will be delayed if you do not provide copies of all previous passports you have
  • Type or write a letter that describes your travel plan to and from Ireland if you intend to:
    • Travel to Ireland from a different country (not your home country or a country where you are a legal resident), or
    • Travel from Ireland to a different country.

9. FINANCES :

You must show that you have enough finance (money) to support yourself in Ireland.

            Note: There is no minimum amount of finance for approving or refusing a visa application. The visa officer will decide if you have enough based on your own circumstances.

 

          If you are paying for your own visit

Include an up-to-date bank statement with your documents. The bank statement must:

  • Be original and on headed bank paper.

          Note: You may use a printed internet statement but it must be officially certified by your bank. We will not accept uncertified internet statements

  • Show your name and address
  • Show the bank account number and account type. For example, checking/current account, savings and deposit account
  • Show money paid in and out of the account over the last 6 months.

If you submit a bank statement from a savings and deposit account, you must include an original letter from your bank (on headed paper). This must confirm you can withdraw money from it.

You must also include a written explanation of any large movements of money in or out of your account, if appropriate.

 

         If a friend or family member in Ireland is helping to pay for your visit

Your friend/family member must also show that they can afford these costs. This applies to any friends/family members  who will help to pay for your vacation, including Irish citizens.

To do so, you must ask them to send you the following original documents and include them with your application:

  • An up-to-date bank statement, following the same rules as described above
  • If they are employed, they must provide:
    • Their 3 most recent pay slips
    • Their most recent tax return document, for example in Ireland, an employment detail summary from Revenue
    • A letter from their employer that confirms they are employed.
  • If they are self employed, they must provide a letter that includes:
    • A description of their business and the products or service they provide
    • Proof that their business is trading, for example:
      • Their most recent financial accounts (clear color photocopy)
      • Recent tax return (clear color photocopy
      • Confirmation of payments from customers from within last 6 months (printed emails or letters).
            If someone else (a third party) is helping to pay for your visit

Type or write a description that explains how and why your visit is being paid for by a third party. You must also include the third party’s:

  • Full name and address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address (if available)
  • Website (if appropriate).

        You must also include:

  • Proof of the relationship between you and the third party, for example copies of letters, emails, photographs together.

The third party must also show that they can afford these costs. This applies to any person who will help to pay for your vacation, including Irish citizens.

10. Obligations to Return home :

As you are applying for a short stay visa for Ireland (which permits visits of less than 90 days), it is important that you provide evidence that you have strong family, social or economic ties to your country of residence. This is necessary in order to satisfy the Visa Officer that you will leave Ireland on, or before, your intended date of departure from Ireland.

 

         Work:

If you are employed, you must provide your 3 most recent payslips and a letter from your employer including:

  • How long you have been employed there
  • The dates you will be absent from your employment
  • The date you will be returning to work in that employment.

       

          Education or study:
If you are a student, you must provide a letter from your college stating:

  • The course you are studying
  • How many years you have been a student there
  • How many years or terms you have left at that college, and that you will be returning there following your visit to Ireland.

   

          Family:
Details of any family members living in your country of residence – if you have any dependent children and your children  are remaining at home, you should submit birth certificates for the children.

       

          Property:
Evidence of any property you own or rent

  • Title deed or tenancy agreement.

         

   Self-employed

If you are self-employed at home, you must show that you have an obligation to continue it. To do so, you must provide a letter that includes:

A description of their business and the products or service they provide

Proof that their business is trading, for example:

  • Your most recent financial accounts (clear color photocopy)
  • Recent tax return (clear colour photocopy)
  • Confirmation of payments from customers from within last 6 months (printed emails or letters).

The date you will return to your business at home.

11. Medical or Travel Insurances :

Evidence of medical or travel insurance does not need to be provided with your application. However, the Visa Officer may request it before they make a decision on your application.

If your visa is approved, you must have evidence of medical or travel insurance when you arrive at the port of entry (airport  or seaport) and must present it to the Immigration Officer on request.

12. Flight Tkt or Itinerary ( Train or Bus tkt. if your are traveling other contry)

13 . Visa refusals:

For all visa or preclearance applications, if you have been refused a visa or preclearance in the past for any country, you  must provide details to us. The original letter issued to you by the authorities of that country must be provided with your  application. Not disclosing any previous visa refusals will result in your application being refused.

In addition if you have:

  • Been deported from any country
  • Been refused entry to any country
  • Been otherwise required to leave any country (including overstaying in any country).

You must provide original documentation issued by the authorities of that country with your application and a full  explanation for consideration.

 

 

        IRELAND BUSINESS VISA REQUIREMNTS

Your signed and dated summary application form and the appropriate fee (where applicable) must be accompanied by the supporting documents set out below.

If you do not submit the required documentation your application may be refused on the basis of insufficient documents

1.Fully completed and signed application summary sheet.

2. Payment confirmation receipt.

3.Two color passport sized photographs not more than 6 months old and complying with the photograph requirements on  www.inis.gov.ie

4.Your current passport, previous passport/s & a full copy of any previous passport/s Your current passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your intended date of departure from Ireland.

If you are not a national of the country where you are applying from, you must submit evidence of your permission to be  inthat country e.g. a residence card. You must also have at least 3 months permission to be in that country after your  intended date of departure from Ireland.

Current passport must have sufficient space for a visa to be inserted; at least two empty pages are required. For short stay visas the current passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of intended departure from Ireland. For long  stay  visas current passport must be valid for 12 months from date of entry into Ireland.)

Original hardcopy letter from your employer in India outlining your business reason for travelling to Ireland.

This letter should clearly state:  How long you are required to stay; (You must check the business visa criteria )

Provide details of where you intend to stay while you are in Ireland;

The business itinerary for entire duration of stay in Ireland (must be carried every time you present yourself at immigration in Dublin).

The business itinerary should clearly specify what applicant is going to do on a dailybasis. General terms like ‘’business  meetings’’ and ‘’business discussions’’ should not be used.

State that the cost of trip is being borne by the company.

Undertake that you will observe the conditions of your visa, that you will not becomea burden on the State, and that you will leave the State on the expiry of your permission to remain.

The details of signatory- name, designation, contact details i.e. direct phone number and email ID (Digitally signed letter will not be accepted).

 

         Self-employed:

You must provide documentary evidence of your business/company in the form of:

Original hardcopy letter from your company in India outlining your business reasonfor travelling to Ireland,

An original, signed and dated letter of headed paper form your accountant/tax consultant/lawyer.

Recent correspondence relating to your self-employment from the Inland Revenue (ITR returns, etc.)

A detailed explanation on company’s profile/free lancing work Up-to-date bank statements for your business bank account covering the 3 month period immediately prior to your application.

7. Link to Host Company in Ireland :

You must include an invitation letter (soft copy acceptable, must have company letterhead, date and signature) from the host company in Ireland detailing:

The nature and duration of your business trip,

Who will cover the cost of the trip and how you will be supported for the duration of your stay inclusive of travel, accommodation and living expenses, etc.

The details of signatory- name, designation, contact details i.e. direct phone number and email ID (Digitally signed letter will not be accepted).

8. Medical/Travel Insurance :

stating that the cost of trip is being borne by yourself, or where that is not the case, providing details of the third party funding the costs of the trip, and

undertaking that you will observe the conditions of your visa, that you will not become a burden on the State, and that you will leave the State on the expiry of your permission to remain.

6. Evidence of your obligations to return :

If you are employed, you must provide an original letter from your employer stating:

  • how long you have been employed there,
  • the date you will be returning to work after attending the conference/event
  • the nature and duration of the conference/event,
  • who will cover the cost of the conference/event,
  • How you will be supported for the duration of stay inclusive of travel, accommodation and living expenses etc. if applicable.

7. If you are a student, you must provide an original letter from your college stating:

  • the course you are studying;
  • how many years you have been a student there.
  • how many years/terms you have left at that college, and that you will be returning there following your visit to Ireland,
  • the nature and duration of the conference and how the conference relates to your course of study.
  • who will cover the cost of the conference and how you will be supported for the duration of stay inclusive of travel, accommodation and living expenses etc.

8. Link to Conference/Event organizer

A letter (soft copy acceptable) from the conference/event organizer in Ireland:

  • Confirming your registration at the conference/event and that registration fees, where relevant, have been paid.

9. Accommodation and travel details.

 Details of your accommodation and travel details, for example:

  • hotel/guesthouse/hostel booking confirmation (may be by email) or where you are staying with a host, a supporting letter from the occupant providing details of the accommodation and confirming that you are able to stay with them.
  • travel booking confirmation (may be by e-mail).

10. Finances :

  • If self-funding the conference/event you must provide an up-to-date bank statement, showing what money has been paid into and out of the account over the last six months.
  • Bank statements must be on headed paper – internet printouts will not be accepted.
  • Your name, address, account number and account type must be visible on the statement. Any large lodgments must be explained.
  • If a third party is covering your costs, you must show how you are linked/ known to this person.
  • There is no set amount of funds that will result in the approval or refusal of an application. The Visa Officer will decide whether you have enough funds based on your individual circumstances.
