Indian nationals who wish to travel Belgium for Tourism, Sightseeing and Recreation are eligible for Tourist Visa.

Business Visa is for individuals attending business negotiations, discussions, conferences, seminars, etc.

During the visit, they may engage in business activities that do not constitute work or employment.

 

Visitors:

Right Time to Apply for a Visa in Belgium

 

Tourist Stream:

If you are planning a short visit to Belgium for up to 90 days or less, you may need to apply for a Schengen visa

Applications can be lodged 6 months in advance of travel date

 

Visitor Stream:

People who wish to travel Belgium to visit family/friends should have an Invitation letter.On this condition, one would be eligible to apply for the visa.

Applying six months in advance of a trip is now possible.

 

Business Stream:

People who wish to travel Belgium to attend a business meeting orconference etc.should receive an Invitation letter from Belgium counterpart

Please note:

  1. Third party collection of the documents or passports will not be permitted, except in the following cases:

 

  • An immediate Family Member (Parent, Children or Spouse)
  • A person collecting on behalf of Government officials, if authorized on the Government letter head
  • Red Carpet Representatives, if authorized on the Company’s letter head

 

  1. It is also mandatory to mention the applicant’s personal address on the covering letter where passport has to be couriered. Applicant’s passport will not be couriered to their travel agency’s’addresses as directed by the Embassy.

 

  1. In case of a business applicant, if the applicant wishes to receive the passport to his/her office, the same needs to be mentioned in the covering letter and the applicant’s office address needs to be mentioned in the courier request form.

Mandatory Information for Application Submission of Belgium Visa

  • Two sets of the entire document are required for short stay applications
  • Three sets of the entire document are required (One set of original and two sets of photocopy)for Long stay applications.
  • For Seaman Applicants, the passports can be collected by the applicant personally, or the Passport will be couriered to the seaman’s residential address only.

Belgium Tourist Visa Requirements: 

  1. National passport with validity of at least 3 months after the end of the planned journey
  2. Completed and signed application form with 2 recent color photographs (5x3cm) with white background glued on the   application form.
  3. Copy of the identity page of your passport and copy of the most recent Schengen visa with stamps
  4. Full detailed itinerary
  5. Copy of Hotel reservation for the total duration of stay in Belgium and other countries in Schengen
  6. Letter of employer, stating your income and your vacation days allowed

Certificate from school stating your vacation days allowed (in case of students)

  • Copy of updated passbook
  • Recent 3 month bank statement
  • Income tax paper

  1. In case of a minor who has not reached 18 years AND is travelling with one of the parents only or alone, a notary affidavit mentioning the consent of the parents must be submitted. This document needs to be apostilled.

BELGIUM BUSINESS VISA REQUIREMENTS

  1. National passport with validity of at least 3 months after the end of the planned journey.

  1. Confirmation letter of the company in India explaining the purpose and duration of the journey and the guarantee to cover all costs that may arise during the stay in Belgium.
  1. Proof of financial means like: recent 3 month bank statements, income tax papers, 3 last salary slips.
  1. Copy of travel insurance valid in Belgium (and other Schengen countries), coverage minimum 30.000 Euro or equivalent amount in Rupees.
  1. Copy of flight ticket reservation.

Belgium Family Visit Visa Requirements:

  1. National passport with validity of at least 3 months after the end of the planned journey.

From the guarantor in Belgium (Belgian or a foreign resident):

  1. Invitation of the person in Belgium stating the purpose of stay, address, telephone number, e-mail address and the period of stay of the guest(s)

If guarantor in Belgium is financing the entire trip:

  1. Original of a guarantee letter (according to article 3bis of law of 15/12/1980), legalized by the municipality where he/she is residing (+ 1 copy)
  1. Copy of the ID card or residence permit of the guarantor, mentioning the right to reside in Belgium for an unlimited period
  1. Family composition (document available at the municipality where the guarantor resides)/li>
  1. Proof of recent income of the guarantor: (3 last salary slip + child benefits) or last income tax assessment paper from the tax department in Belgium
