DOCUMENTS REQUIREMENT

Austria Tourist visa requirements

1. Passport: (a) its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States; (b) it shall contain at least two blank pages; (c) it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years; (d) NO alteration or handwritten amendment concerning the data page.
2. Visa Application form- Fully in English Language.
3. Two Photographs (35 mm x 45 mm,70 to 80% face , white background,contrast color cloth.
4. Covering letter for purpose of trip with detailed Itinerary, Location and Duration of Stay in Austria.
5. Round-trip flight reservations – travel itinerary: Airline reservation and proof of other means of travel within Austria/EU in case of onward travel .
6. Proof of accommodation: Hotel reservation / letter of tour organizer and / or other appropriate documentation indicating the envisaged travel plans within Austria /EU.
7. Travel Insurance: Travel medical insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage shall be EUR 30 000.

9. Proof of occupation:

1. Employed: Salary certificate of the last three (3) months of present occupation, employment contract plus company NOC to leave. Also, please mention official email address of the applicant or email address HR department on the application form OR business card mentioning the official email ID of the applicant.
2. Self-employed: GST certificate/ Udhyog Aadhar Memorandum/ Import Export Certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation etc
3. Student: NOC from school / college/ University and Fees book copy.

10. Proof of sufficient funds:

1. Original bank statements of the last three (3) months and/or other funds available (pension etc.)
2. ITR: Income Tax Acknowledgement / ITR-V from the last three (3) years.

11. Minor travelers:

1. A minor accompanied by one parent shall provide an Original notarized NOC by the other parent , plus copies of parents passports or ID.
2. A minor travelling alone shall provide an Original notarized NOC by both parents / legal guardians, plus copies of parents passports or ID

11. Copy of passport and Previous schengen Visas if any.

Important Notes:

• If applicant intends to stay longer than 6 (six) months, Residence Permit (“Aufenthaltstitel”) has to be applied for. Visa “C” can be applied for with validity for up to 90 days, Visa “D” between 91 and 180 days. Visa in both categories cannot be extended or renewed in Austria.
• Applications cannot be submitted 6 months prior to departure.
• Processing can take up to 15 working days after receiving the application. Status queries will be responded after the above time frame only.
• Kindly note that, in case an application is received by the Embassy, less than 15 working days before the intended travel date, the application along with the passport will be returned to VFS. Therefore, the applicants are advised to apply atleast 1 month prior to the intended travel.
• However, in individual cases, that period may be extended up to 30 calendar days in, particularly when further scrutiny of the application is needed. In case the authorities of the Member State are consulted or additional documentation is needed, this period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.

Austria Business visa requirements

1. Passport: (a) its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States; (b) it shall contain at least two blank pages; (c) it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years; (d) NO alteration or handwritten amendment concerning the data page.
2. Visa Application form- Fully in English Language.
3. Two Photographs (35 mm x 45 mm,70 to 80% face ,white background ,contrast color cloth.
4. Covering letter, explaining the purpose of the trip and business relation with the Austrian business partner (letter must confirm identity of applicant, place and period of intended stay).
5. Invitation letter from the Austrian company / Business Operation.
6. In case the purpose of travel is other than business meetings (training, voluntary work or project work etc.)

• Permission by the Austrian Labor Market Authority “AMS”(Entsendebewilligung, Anzeigebestätigung) to be obtained by the inviting Austrian company.

7. If applicable – Electronic letter of guarantee – “EVE” or “GVE” – Elektronische Verpflichtungserklärung” or Generalverpflichtungserklärung.

• (to be obtained from the Austrian business with the competent „Fremdenpolizeibehörde“ at the appropriate regional office in Austria (if applicable) or in case of GVE at the Austrian Ministry of Interior.

12. Proof of sufficient funds:

• For Business person, Personal Bank statement and Company bank statement (06 month Original) and Personal  ITreturns and Company IT returns last 03 years required.

13. Passport : Copy of the present passport (data pages, pages with evidence of previous visa, travel)

• Original(s) of previous passport(s) or proof of loss.

Important Notes:

• Processing can take up to 15 working days after receiving the application. Status queries will be responded after the above time frame only.
• Kindly note that in case an application is received by the Embassy, less than 15 working days before the intended travel date, the application along with the passport will be returned to VFS. Therefore, the applicants are advised to apply atleast 1 month prior to the intended travel.

• Applicant can be asked for Additional documents or may be called for an Interview if deemed necessary.

Austria Family Visit/Visit visa requirements :

1. Passport: (a) its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States; (b) it shall contain at least two blank pages; (c) it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years; (d) NO alteration or handwritten amendment concerning the data page.
2. Visa Application form- Fully in English Language.

4. Cover Letter :explaining purpose of the trip and relation to the sponsor.
5. Travel Insurance: Travel medical insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage shall be EUR 30 000.
6. Electronic letter of guarantee of sponsor – “EVE – Elektronische Verpflichtungserklärung”Obtained by the sponsor at the competent „Fremdenpolizeibehörde“ of the sponsor’s district in Austria.Invitee ID card copy and Financial documents
7. Evidence of occupation / student status :

• Employed: Salary certificate of the last three (3) months of present occupation, employment contract plus company NOC to leave.
• Self-employed: The applicable CIN Certificate/ LLP certificate/ GST certificate/ UdhyogAadhar Memorandum/ Import Export Certificate etc.

8. ITR: Income Tax Acknowledgement / ITR-V from the last three (3) years.(For Business person company and Personal both).
9. Proof of Funds: Original bank statements of the last three (3) months and / or other funds available (pension etc.) (For Business person company and Personal both).
10. Round-trip flight reservations – travel itinerary: airline reservation and proof of other means of travel within Austria/EU.
11. Proof of accommodation: Hotel reservation / letter of tour organizer and / or other appropriate documentation indicating the envisaged travel plans within Austria / EU.
12. Minor travelers: A minor accompanied by one parent shall provide a Original notarized NOC by the other parent , plus copies of parents passports or ID.

Important Notes:

In case an application is lodged less than 15 working days before departure, a timely completion of the visa process cannot be guaranteed.

However, in individual cases, that period may be extended up to 30 calendar days in, particularly when further scrutiny of the application is needed. In case the authorities of the Member State are consulted or additional documentation is needed, this period may be extended up to a maximum of 60 calendar days.

Applicant are advised that during the examination of an application, consulates may ask any additional documents.

 Austria Student Visa/Research Visa/Internship Visa

1. Visa Application form – Fully completed in English Language.
2. Passport:

•  its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States;
• it shall contain at least two blank pages;
• it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years;
• no alteration or handwritten amendment concerning the data page.

3. Photographs:

• Shall be in accordance with the international standards as set out in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). (35mm x 45 mm,70%face,white back ground, contrast color cloth).

4. Travel Insurance : Travel medical insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage shall be EUR 30 000.
5. Cover letter explaining the purpose of the trip.

6. Confirmation of present student status e.g. original letter from school / college / university, student card, certificates etc.
7. Certificate of admission or registration at an educational institute for the purpose of attending academic or vocational courses, or cover letter from the host company.
8. Evidence of payment of tuition fee or acceptance of scholarship for the intended studies in Austria .
9. Proof of sufficient funds to cover overall cost of living during the probable duration of study in Austria.
10. Electronic letter of guarantee of sponsor – “EVE – ElektronischeVerpflichtungserklärung”.obtained by the sponsor at the competent “Fremdenpolizeibehörde“ of the sponsor’s district in Austria (if applicable).
11. Proof of accommodation in Austria or letter of acceptance at the school’s / college’s / university’s dormitory.
12. Round-trip flight bookings – travel itinerary: airline reservation and proof of other means of travel within Austria/EU.
13. Minor travelers:
14. a) a minor accompanied by one parent shall provide an Original notarized NOC by the other parent , plus copies of parents passports or ID.                                                                                                                                             b) a minor travelling alone shall provide an Original notarized NOC by both parents / legal guardians, plus copies of parents passports or ID.

Important Notes:

This Visa is granted for those who want to do an internship in Austria. Those who intend to work longer than six months should apply for a residency-permit, and not for a visa.

Austria Work visa Requirements (Short term)

1. Visa Application form – Fully completed in English Language.
2. Passport:

•  its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States;
• it shall contain at least two blank pages;
• it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years;
• no alteration or handwritten amendment concerning the data page.

3. Photographs:

• Shall be in accordance with the international standards as set out in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). (35mm x 45 mm), 70%face,white back ground, contrast color cloth).

4. Travel Insurance:   Travel medical insurance shall be valid throughout the territory of the Member States and cover the entire period of the person’s intended stay or transit. The minimum coverage shall be EUR 30 000.

6. Valid permit to return (if applicable) e g. Valid Indian Residency Permit or return visa to India for citizens of Bangladesh / Bhutan / India / Maldives / Nepal / Sri Lanka. For Tibetans travelling on Indian IC (yellow Identity Certificate) it is mandatory to hold a Return Visa (valid until at least three months after your intended return to India) apart from the stamped entry “No objection to return to India” (NORI) in the IC.

12. Round-trip flight reservations – travel itinerary.                                                                                     Proof of accommodation: Hotel reservation in Austria and other EU Member State in case of onward travel
13. airline reservation and proof of other means of travel within EU (if applicable).

14. Original(s) of previous passport(s) or proof of loss.

Important Notes:

• This category applies to persons who wish to travel to Austria for work not more than 90 days up to 3 months. Confirmation of the Labour Market Service (AMS) is required.
• Applicant will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.
